College Basketball Guide

BV BasketballTeam BV Huddle w/Coach

BV Basketball started as an AAU girls basketball program working with players from 7th to 9th grade placing full energy and attention on improving each individual’s performance.  Unlike many AAU/club tournament teams that focused only on winning games, the program was designed to develop skills and prepare players for the next level. The priority was ensuring players learned to develop their skills, game knowledge, and gain experience playing at a high level. Given the choice, we strived to both win and improve each individual player, but the best teachable moments came from losses and those moments were used to improve our players.

Tournament games were played in the highly competitive Houston, Texas area with practices held in Katy, TX. Each player is going to get plenty of game time to improve their skills before going into their next junior high school girls basketball season or moving on to high school after 8th grade.

Coach C has since moved on to coach basketball at various levels and is now a college basketball coach responsible for recruiting highschool players and developing college basketball players to their highest potential.

Recruting information: BV Basketball has connections with college coaches ranging from NCAA Division 1 to NJCAA Division III college coaches. We are not a recruitment service, but we are happy to facilitate connections between players, our partner's players, and those girls basketbal players in the Houston area looking to play at the college level. The best source of information for high school girls basketball players looking to gain a roster spot at the college level is Coach C's women's basketball recruitment guide.

"The only substitute for game time experience is game time experience."

BV Basketball Girls Basketball Not in Season

BV Basketball - Blue Uniform - Free throws

Players were primarily from the Katy, Texas and Richmond, Texas areas. Girls basketball players from Richmond, Fulshear, Sugar Land and other Houston, TX surrounding areas were welcomed to join.

Our innagural Summer/Fall 2023 program was a great success. We had 5 players make their 8th grade school teams who didn't make it the previous year plus one 7th grader who made it her first try! Everyone that tried out made their teams, including two returning school players. It shows that giving girls a chance is worth the effort! Congratulations to our Girls 2023 Summer/Fall Basketball Tournament Team! In 2024, all players who wished to continue playing basketball at the high school level made their school teams.

Our program was designed to improve basketball skill development and maximize playing time to give players an opportunity to advance to more competitive teams as they further mature and develop.

Many tournaments were scheduled and skills matched with other players meant lots of development opportunities!
