What makes BV Basketball different? Unlike many AAU/club tournament teams that focus only on winning games, our program is designed to develop skills and prepare players for the next level. Winning is fun, but the priority is ensuring players learn to develop their skills, game knowledge, and gain experience playing at a higher level. Given the choice, we strive to both win and improve each individual player. Sometimes the best teachable moments come from losses not wins so we won’t hesitate to sacrifice winning over improving our players.
Currently, BV Basketball only has one team. Girls aged 14 and under heading into the 7th or 8th grade for the 2023-2024 school year (graduating classes of 2028/2029). This allows us to focus our full energy and attention on improving each individual’s performance.
The two hour per practice day schedule gives us plenty of time to work on individual and team drills. Our players will practice in game-like scenarios and be required to maintain the stamina to be able to play multiple games over several days during tournament play.
Tournament games are played in the highly competitive Houston, Texas area with practices held in Katy, TX. Each player is going to get plenty of game time to improve their skills before going into their junior high school girls basketball season.
BV Basketball is ideal for development to competitive players looking to make their Jr. High School teams or move from C/B team to B/A team. Current A team and select/elite AAU level players who aren't starters and get minimal game time will benefit by getting game time experience.
"The only substitute for game time experience is game time experience."
